The area around Woodberry Wetlands, known as Woodberry Down, has a long and fascinating history.

If you love London heritage, architecture, nature and wildlife, or simply walking in a beautiful waterside setting, this is a riveting tour not to be missed. The stories told by the surrounding developments alone make the area an absolutely fascinating place to visit.

 

The tour is led by one of experienced team, who knows the site and local nature well, and will be able to give you a great insight into the history and nature at Woodberry Wetlands.

The walk circumnavigates the reservoir to give views from all directions and takes place on a flat, easily navigable surface and at a comfortable pace to allow plenty of time for discussion and questions. This walk does take place outside, so please do dress appropriately for the weather.

The walk ends at the Coal House cafe, with the option to purchase a ticket with a hot drink included in the ticket price, at a discounted rate to normal sale; alternatively this ticket can be used to the value of £2 off a meal in café.

 

This event is suitable for ages 12+

Please note that this is an outdoor walk, please do wear suitable footwear and clothing for the weather conditions on the day.

Please arrive a few minutes before the tour commences.

Access to the Coal House is via the main entrance at Woodberry Wetlands, via the New River Path, accessed via Lordship Road. Please check our visitor information page for further details and a map.

For events taking place outside of public opening hours, you will be met at the main entrance gate at the start time of the event.

 

To prevent disturbance to the wildlife at this nature reserve, dogs are not permitted (including dogs on leads) at Woodberry Wetlands except for registered guide and assistance dogs.

For the same reason, cycling on site is also not permitted. Bike racks are available outside the main entrance.
